I took this shot of a heavily used basketball in Durban. My nephew has used this ball so often on the concrete floor that it is ultra smooth now.  

A macro shot with a simple focal B&W applied using software. I used a tripod so as to keep the camera as steady as possible.

The final piece completed and framed. I think the artist did a decent job of recreating the spirit of the original. Let me know what you think? A reproduction of John William Godward's original - "Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder"

A painting called "Absence makes the heart grow fonder" by John Godward. I love the serene yet concerned look of the maiden in this piece. I have commissioned a local artist to reproduce this in oil on canvas for me. I will post a pic of the reproduction when i receive it. Copyright belongs to the original artist, John Godward.

A tiny mushroom in the garden at home. When viewed at full res, you can actually see the droplets of water on the grass. 

A massive sculpture of Lord Shiva at the Shiva temple in Bangalore on Airport road. Magnificent!!! 

A rather extensive wine rack at the Arabella Sheraton Hotel restaurant in the Cape near Hermanus in South Africa. This is just one side of the wine rack. This hotel was extremely classy and situated in the middle of a golf estate at the edge of a lagoon. Some of the best wines in the country are served here. 

This is just one of the old houses/buildings I love in Selborne, Hampshire. The countryside is so conducive to relaxation and peace. If you ever get the chance, take a drive through this town and stop over to walk through the village. I'm sure it will be just as enjoyable for you too. Picture shot in September 2003. It feels like time has stood still in this village. 

The sign outside a great pub in my favourite village in the UK. It is a tiny little village called Selborne and I always make a trip to this place because it is so peaceful and reminds me of the British movies I used to watch as a kid. Definately drop in to this pub for some old fashioned hospitality.

Poor Connection

These last few days my internet connection has been really poor so I have not been able to post any updates as it just times out. I must say that my experience with Internet access in India has not been great. :-(

A busy street in Mumbai outside a building built by the British. The architecture in this area was beautiful. I'm not sure of the name of the building though.
