Hot Sweet Chillies

Still playing around with my Sony A230. The colour reproduction is fairly accurate with amazing detail. This is a shot of chillies in the garden we planted in spring.

Egg Plant Flower

After opening up my Sony A230, I walked around the house and garden looking for things to shoot. I'm thrilled with the results of this camera.

It Finally Dies

After 5 years of extremely faithful service, and over 15,000 photographs later, my Sony DSC-F828 Cybershot camera died. This is what one of the last few photos looked like. I'm still not sure what the problem was but it was time to lay it to rest and take the plunge with a digital SLR. After much research and taking into account the limited number of photo's I shoot, I decided to go entry level and picked the Sony Alpha230 (over Nikon and Canon). I'll post some sample pics from that camera in the coming weeks. I was very impressed at the results and am thrilled I finally have an SLR.

My Ultimate Tent

This permanent tent was my accomodation at Thandeka Lodge. It was fully functional and absolutely modern and well furnished inside. All tents should be like this :-) Totally out of Africa.

An Old Greek Church

This church was at the bottom of one of the High Streets in the shopping district in Athens. It was fairly well preserved but looked unused.

The Acropolis

The famous Acropolis shot from the Acropolis Museum at night. The feeling was as awe inspiring as I had imagined it. Well worth the entire trip to Athens, just for this viewing.

View from my Balcony

Staying at the Astir Palace in Athens, this was the view of the lagoon from my bedroom window. Reminded me of Cape Town...

"Spore"

The famous "spore" on the Sporekrans hike. This was at the base of the mountain leading to the overhang cave where we spent the night. This rock had indentations that looked like leopard paw prints hence the afrikans word "spore" for paw prints...
