Each king over the centuries has erected different temples around the Grand Palace. This is the entrance to one of them.
Navalya was not posing for this shot, she was not aware I was shooting her in this frame.
Lord Buddha sitting placidly among the temples.
Another temple, this time I managed to fit the entire image into one shot (almost).
Another colossal temple on the grounds of the Grand Palace.
A different angle of the temple.
The top of this 'wat' (Thai word for temple) has fine mosaic work throughout.
This mosaic encrusted figure looked rather well maintained.
Navalya seems quite at home standing next to this stone figure guarding the temple.
We decided to go back to Thailand a second time for a holiday because we enjoyed it so much the first time around. The temples are as magnificent as ever. This is one of them at the Grand Palace in Bangkok.

An aerial shot of Switzerland. Notice how tiny the buildings look.
A tiger preserved and on display in the natural history museum in Geneva. :-(
